Korea’s steel demand would grow 12% in 2010

Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy said today that Korea’s steel demand might increase by 12 percent, which is mainly from automobile and manufacture industries and oversea market for economy recovery.

In the report, the local consumption of local buyers would reach 51.4 million tons, and the export volume would increase to US$25 billion in 2010.

However, the steel section’s investment would shrink from US$8.9 billion in 2009 to US$6.1 billion in 2010.
